After closely observing last year's Planter Program we have decided to make some changes. We are attempting to create a theme throughtout the downtown with selected flowers. The flowers in the pots had a dramatic effect, but it was felt by grouping more than two pots together a bolder statement would be made. As a result of vandalism, many of the pots were destroyed, so there are fewer this year than last. Please share suggestions or comments on the program with us. We look forward to hearing from you.

The Planter Program:
Adding More Color and Life to Downtown

The White Plains BID has reinstated the Planter Program throughout downtown White Plains. The intention was to add color and to beautify the area. The program has been well received. According to Beverly Borwick of Bevlin Personnel Inc, "They (the planters) do much to enhance this downtown area… it is certainly a great idea." The BID's Planter Program supplements the fine work already done by the White Plains Beautification Foundation and the City of White Plains.

The BID gave the City of White Plains thirty flower pots to surround the fountain at the Main/Mamaroneck Park. The fountain was not scheduled to be turned on again in the summer as a result of the drought and other issues.
