This treasured tale, featuring mad-cap and endearing farm animals, explores bravery, selfless love, and the true meaning of friendship.

PETER AND THE WOLF

Das Puppenspiel – Theater with puppets all ages

Sergei Prokofiev’s musical classic is brought to life with beautifully crafted lifesize “bunraku” style puppets. The story is told both through narration and musical themes.

Serving as both an excellent introduction to the instruments of the orchestra and as an enchanting story of charm and drama, the story tells the tale of adventurous young Peter, who wanders off into the meadow where he meets an array of colorful characters, including a cat, bird, duck and, of course, the dangerous wolf. Through his ingenuity, Peter saves the day in his capture of the wolf in a captivating and charming blend of exquisite puppetry, thrilling narrative, and powerful classical music that is ideal for families!

Sun. June 7, 2009 at 3 pm
SEUSSICAL

TheatreWorks USA musical based on the works of Dr. Seuss for Grades Pre K-4

“Oh, the thinks you can think” when Dr. Seuss’s best-loved stories collide and cavort in an unforgettable musical caper! Adapted from the Broadway version, this adaptation especially for young audiences features thirteen actors and enhanced production values. Seussical is TheatreWorks USA’s biggest show ever!

The Cat in the Hat is the host and emcee (and all-around mischief-maker) in this romp through the Seuss classics. When the sweet, good-natured elephant Horton hears a small cry for help coming from a small speck of dust, he promises to rescue and guard it because “a person’s a person, no matter how small.” Dr. Seuss’s beloved classic characters find themselves intertwined in an incredible crazy-quilt adventure, in which the power of imagination and the most miraculous “think” ever save the day!

BROADWAY CLASSICS:
Single tickets are on sale!

Nov. 20 - Dec. 14, 2008
OLIVER!

Winner of three 1963 Tony Awards. Based on the novel by Charles Dickens and directed by Luke Yankee (who brought Man of La Mancha to glorious life last season), audiences will delight in Fagin, Oliver, Nancy, the evil Bill Sykes, the Artful Dodger and all the rest. Oliver!, with outstanding musical numbers like “Food, Glorious Food,” “I’d Do Anything,” “Consider Yourself” and “As Long As He Needs Me,” is truly a musical theatre classic and a perfect show for the entire family.

Mar. 5 - Mar. 22, 2009
A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC

WPPAC will present one of Broadway’s most neglected masterpieces, Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s romantic and achingly beautiful A Little Night Music, directed by Sidney J. Burgoyne. Winner of six 1973 Tony Awards including Best Musical and the Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Musical, the show deals with the universal subject of love in all it wondrous, humorous and ironic permutations. Sophisticated, literate and stylish, A Little Night Music is also disarmingly warm, funny, charming and very human. The lilting, Ravel-inspired score in 3/4 time contains Sondheim’s most popular song, the haunting “Send in the Clowns.”

Apr. 30 - May 17, 2009
HELLO, DOLLY!

Closing out the season from April 30-May 17, is an all-new production of Jerry Herman’s delightful Hello, Dolly!, directed by Jack W. Batman. Hello, Dolly! is the winner of ten 1964 Tony Awards including Best Musical and the Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Musical.
